OP here. My dog is huge and the last thing I want when I come home is being pushed around and blocked, trying to grab my dinner and just out of control behavior. She’s learning patience and that I am the boss. I see so many people who let their dogs control them. I also find it extremely annoying when I visit people who let their dogs jump all over you! I will never allow that kind of behavior when I have company. Not only is it rude, it’s a liability with our dog.
Sounds like you need training help with a lot more than just “greeting”. Have you looked into those dog training boot camp things?
I don’t need training anymore! She is doing great and about 80% there with consistent training. When I get home she will pop her head up and look at me and sometimes she will start walking towards me but at a calm pace. I just have to motion back to her place and she is doing it. And this is even while holding a bag of fried chix! Now that’s discipline. :D
