Out of curiosity, have you considered VCU or ODU?
VCU and GMU. Possibly West Virginia U.
WVU could be on the table. DD had a drop in grades her senior year (went from straight B/B+'s in all APs Junior year to 2 Bs a C and a D in APs/dual enrollment senior fall) and lost her EA admit to Case Western. Applied to WVU and ODU in May because her school counselor told her they had engineering and a late application deadline. Was admitted to both and attended ODU. She didn't like it there (and decided against engineering) and transferred to a SLAC after a year of grade recovery. Note that she had excellent recs, essays, and ECs, 1570 SAT (800 math), 800s on a few SAT 2s, and 5s on nearly all her AP tests. She was also taking the hardest courses available at her FCPS high school - dual enrollment multivariable/linear algebra, both exams for physics C, both AP gov exams etc. We just couldn't get her to do her homework and then she had some other issues pop up over senior year. On the plus side, she seemed to be way more relaxed and had more free time than the kids who were doing their homework.
Are you saying they rescinded her admission over a mid year D? I have never heard of that over anything less than a final grade before.
