Where I live (not DC) restaurants are unable to hire people due to low wages, so they’ve taken to posting on social media and posting signs *inside the restaurant itself* that government needs to abolish social services so people will be forced to work at $2.13 an hour.

Exactly. The problem isnt that their business cant stay afloat without paying people pennies its that people are relying on social services, which is funny considering a lot of servers I used to know were eligible for social services like Medicaid, WIC/SNAP, daycare vouchers, etc. Trust me taxpayers end up paying for the low wage jobs anyways.
