My DD got her period today and she is 11.5. I was really hoping to make it past the summer bc of the pool/beach/lake but I knew we were on borrowed time after she grew several inches recently.
Op here - maybe her first few will be irregular, many are. My dd’s feet just grew several sizes so I’m expecting a height growth to follow, and then maybe puberty will really start. So many of her friends seem to be more developed, and while I’m not truly concerned she did bring it up to me which is why I posted. She said many of her friends shave, need deodorant, bras, etc, and she’s nowhere near needing any of those things. She wears an all natural deodorant because she likes to but has no discernible smell at all. She talked about some of her friends who have their periods and I’m glad the girls are able to speak openly about it. I think she feels like people are “expecting” her to be more developed because she’s bigger, and a couple of the girls her size are in full puberty so she was concerned that there’s something wrong.
