Visa and Amex gift cards are hard to use. Do Amazon or Target.
Target is way too limiting, so, of the two, Amazon would be the better choice. I don’t get what’s so difficult about using a Visa gift card though — and someone might really appreciate the opportunity to make a significant purchase that’s not available through Amazon. This is intended to be a gift — not an opportunity to purchase classroom supplies. A fantastic tote bag, a relaxing weekend vacation, paying off a nagging bill, an extravagant dinner, or a wonderful winter coat are not going to be available at Amazon or Target.
Agree. A gift is a gift, my vote to give as much flexibility to the recipient in using the funds as possible. You don’t know what people need. Hell, she may need new windshield wipers or brakes. Or want to gift her distant relatives with weekly dinners since she can’t be there to support their cancer treatment. Maybe she is terrified and pregnant and wants to pay for an abortion. Maybe she wants to chip into a family fund to keep someone off the street and pay one of their bills. Who knows? But eff adding profit to Amazon and Target’s bottom line of revenue just because its “easy”. It’s not easy or convenience for everyone. We don’t know the need.
