There was a forfeit during the final in the Virginian 06. BRYC coach and assistant got reds, had to leave the field. The team played on without a coach, down 1-2, but a few minutes later they forfeited halfway through second half. Very odd.
That’s appalling by the coaches. Coaches never have an excuse to get carded. Never.
One of the opposing coaches at our game on Saturday got thrown out for yelling at the refs about not calling penalties. There are a couple players on our team who play dirty (yes, I admit it, - I really dislike the kids and their parents), the refs weren’t calling any penalties on them, and one of them knocked the opposing team’s goalie out of the game in the first half with a dirty hit after the goalie had possession. There were no penalties called on that play, or when the same two players blatantly tripped their players, or the multiple times they slammed into the other team’s striker in the box as he as about to take a shot. Obviously I didn’t say anything at the field, but I admired the coach for taking a stand and agreed with what he said to the refs. We’re leaving the club after this season because I’m so disappointed in the integrity of our coaches in not stopping what was happening on the field. We won the game, but I was really embarrassed to be associated with it.
I think you mean the ref was not calling FOULS not PENALTIES. A player hits the goalie when the goalie has possession, it's a foul. Not a penalty.
DP. I think we all understood what the previous poster was saying. There is no need to be snide and pedantic.
