A European cruise with little kids plus my mother plus some of her friends sounds like a bonafide nightmare. No. That is an enormous ask and you are well within reason to say you will not be in attendance.
+1. Tell mom to go party with her friends. You and the kids will hold them back. That won’t be fun for anyone. And it’s okay to say no to family. Mine wanted us to travel across the country for their 50th anniversary. It didn’t make sense with time or money for my family of four to go so we didn’t. We didn’t offer an alternative trip but wished them a happy anniversary and said we were sorry we couldn’t celebrate in person with them.
