'totally I agree with you All the families on the team are paying a nice chunk of change so its a collective investment and he isn't pulling his weight let him know get you act together or give your roster spot to a family who will pull their weight.
Investment? No, it’s entertainment. You people are ridiculous, these are kids.
Investment does not necessarily mean money. Your attitude is why we don't like being on teams where kids and family do not take it seriously and skip critical practices and games, leaving other teammates to scramble for subs and a win. Next time, play rec or private trianing for solely entertainment.
Exactly, Its more than entertainment is about teamwork, brotherhood, sisterhood, learning to work together , and holding each other accountable. We win together we lose together and we all go thru it together. Uf your child or family doesn't buy in they should probably play rec soccer.
Let’s be honest, travel soccer is rec soccer. If you are talking about a top 50 ranked national team, maybe you have a point. Most everything else is just to keep kids active and entertained. Youth soccer is a mess because everybody thinks their kids are playing World Cup games or are little messi’s. The attitude of take it seriously is why so many kids quit. Y’all are killing the fun for the kids - good parenting.
Yes! There’s a spectrum of seriousness from rec to travel. Especially on the lower level teams, and at younger ages, not all players and families will be fully committed. It’s not really until high school where the less committed players drop out. It sucks when not everyone on a team has the same level commitment. I’ve seen it in both directions and we’ve changed teams because of it. In general (not all the time obviously), the better teams tend to be more committed. Partly they are good teams because they are committed.
