As for whether the costs are covered, it all depends. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. For example, IF you have a big eater, maybe not. If you have kids in expensive activities, hockey, gymnastics, maybe not.  But I am not one to necessarily track expenses, I buy what I want to buy (clothes etc) and am blessed to not have to worry as I can afford it.
