Half of what is coming out isn't blood, so it's possible it's not urine. Also it doesn't make sense that your tampon could get saturated with urine. It's improbable given the location of your urethra and the tampon and gravity, etc. That doesn't rule out that you are leaking urine while you have your period, but that's not what's on your tampon.

Thank you for skipping over that.  Panty liner, yes. Will do. Just wanted to pick everyone’s brain as to *why* it could be happening.  For example, I thought someone might say “yup, happened to me, sign of pre menopause.” Or something along those lines. [/quote]

I bet it's definitely the string in my case. I'd started 'drying' it with TP by squeezing it, that seemed to help. Also agree about the panty liner. This became a non-issue when I switched to the cup (pandemic experiment). [/quote]
