That requires other kids to tryout, right? Maybe they should scout the bridge teams.
Totally agree because putting the same team out there year after year is bordering on insanity. I feel bad because there are 2-3 boys who have real potential to possibly play in college. Most of the others are just here because of loyalty and the club not being honest with them. I think thats whats hurting us in ECNL play.
Let me guess, your DS is one of the 2-3 boys. If not, you're okay with your DS being replaced?
This and how do the other players affect those 2-3 boys with potential of playing in college? Are you worried about the club getting kicked out of ECNL and therefore less exposure? If so, then those 2-3 probably won't have a problem getting onto another ECNL roster somewhere if that talented. Just not following you and why bashing the other players, who probably are your DS's friends.
My honest thoughts are the coaches from day 1 have said be patient stay the course. Its a marathon not a sprint. Now going into the U15 phase in the fall. We are worried about the team not getting looked at and DS being overlooked by college scouts. When were U11 the club had an older team that won it all and was on the top of the world. It has gotten worse each year since. I think the complacent mind set is hurting the progression of the teams and having a direct impact on future college options. Who knows my DS could be one of the players not progressing enough and holding the team back. I am sure as a team if there isn't more improvement we will all seriously be affected as to college opportunities.
