I love when people ASSume stuff about strangers, like someone's a nimby when they're not. I guess I'll play along too, those are some big words for a millennials living in their parents basement. And "xenophobia" some how having to do with the treatment of animals. It will be a slaughterhouse but you want ME to coddle you and re-name is so you feel safer lol. NOPE. Not happening. This is what they do slaughter chickens they slit they're throats=that is slaughtering.

What else would you like it to be called? They don't rock the chicken to sleep thus that's a slaughterhouse by exact definition: slaughter

It's a butcher shop. When it's the Muslims though, you need a scarier term like "slaughterhouse." Alexandria often claims to be progressive and inclusive, but there's still an alarming amount of xenophobia, and I say that as a liberal Muslim city resident.

Funny how often the animal rights activists target grocery stores that sell factory farmed meat. Or meat vendors at our local farmer's market.

I rarely eat poultry to begin with, but I'd much rather patron a butcher with far, FARRRRRR better standards than your big box places. Seriously, have you ever seen a chicken farm? The halal shop will be sourcing them from Amish stores. Infinitely better than your standard chicken slums.
