Madewell whisper thin v-neck for that draped, lived-in feel -- very comfortable, look great tucked in. I like to size up one or two sizes because I like a looser fit for these. They are thin, so great for very hot summer days, but you need a good t-shirt bra. For something that looks more polished, I like Gap's modern fit tees. My favorite is the boat and scoop necks -- just very pretty necklines with good sharp seams so they do a nice job of framing your face. Great for work. They are also extremely soft and a little thicker, so they feel substantial. Look fantastic on their own or under a jacket.
Oh, almost forgot! Everlane makes tees in a pima micro rib that is also really great. I have two turtlenecks in the fabric and want to get a couple short sleeves this spring. It's the best ribbed tee I've found.
