She instilled confidence in middle class parents, but a lot of her policies werent great. Testing, testing and more testing, very in the box thinking, and a LOT of Teach for America churn. The standards based work that had begun on DC Schools under the guy before her was actually pretty good (was it Vance?). It was thoughtful and methodical, and a lot of progress was already being made - though quietly.I agree she created some buzz and momentum, but charters were actually the kick in the pants DCPS needed [/quote]
