Riots and looting and violence and destruction are not good things but in this case it was a pretty good reason for a riot. But it's a whole new ball game today. And did the chief of police and other officers from the department testify for the prosecution?  The department is leading the charge to convict Chauvin—the blue line is broken here so even the LEO sympathizers will have a hard time acquiting.  The judge may be carefully trying to avoid ruling against the defense to make sure they have no grounds for a reversal on appeal if he messes up an evidentiary call.  Obviously a reversal and retrial would be bad for everyone (except Chauvin).  [/quote]
