Not sure what your problem is OP? I get tested all the time in DC! Thank god for free testing because I need a negative test to see my rheumatologist in the office and most of the patients are immunocompromised. The turn around time is do to the type of test (PCR) which are far more reliable than the rapid test. (Rheumatologist won’t allow rapid tests because they’re too unreliable.)
I don’t get this. It’s clear that these test time turnaround is unreliable. People’s tests are getting lost. Learn how to read. Maybe you need to see an eye doctor next
DC has run over 1.3 million FREE tests at sites all around the city. They were early adopters of drive thru testing; many friends and colleagues came to DC for testing because MD was nowhere near as good. I paid $130 for a guaranteed turnaround test last summer for my kid's camp (spit test), but it was no faster than the free (more accurate PCR) testing I got at the Bertie Backus drive thru. The only time testing took longer than 48 hours for me was around Thanksgiving when lines were down the street. YMMV.
Would like to see the data on these tests and how long the turnaround times were. Nothing is free FYI. There are half a dozen people I know that had their tests lost.
So my anecdotes don't count, but the hearsay stories from your friends do; got it. Free is free to me and to my insurance company. As I stated upthread, I also paid for testing that took just as long. PS those free DC tests, combined with strict quarantining allowed me to take my elderly demented mother out of her locked down facility three different times for holidays and her 85th birthday, and we all have made it over a year with no COVID ( and she is now safely vaccinated). We will cherish the memories of those visits FOREVER, and I will always be grateful for access to the easy and accurate testing we got from DC.
