[/quote] +2 It is a very classist way of operating - very much viewing her role as that of a servant. It does reek of insecurity and the parents or at least the mom is probably not a very confident parent. We have had the same nanny for 20 years and she is part of our family. We use her name except when we say "nanny" as a clarifier. I thought your post was going to be "do you call your nanny a nanny or a babysitter?" because I've had some people correct me and say, "you mean 'the babysitter'" as if I didn't know her role lol. There are some people who are horrified that anyone has a nanny.[/quote]
