Not to sound mean but seriously why are some people allowing their children to be so trapped inside? Turn off the news and let your kids live. Outside is totally safe (I think masks outside are pointless) but even if you don't there is no reason why they cant be living life in a mask outside. My kids have been playing sports, hanging out with friends etc throughout this whole time. Just not inside which frankly I love because they don't tear up the house. Win win. I feel horrible for these kids that have had no interaction all this time. What are you all doing to these kids? Turn off the news and get out!!!
Um, OP here. That is literally the point of my post- to ask what kids are doing and to come up with ways for her to "get out." I never said I had COVID concerns, and this entire thread is full of responses indicating ways in which their kids are out doing things...
You are right...I shouldn't have said not to sound mean....I should have just given my input without the preface.... you said "Prior to COVID, she did sports and plays and a few other small clubs, some charitable work. It has been a year of nothing. We think it may be time to rejoin some activities this spring, like rec soccer or something, to get her ready for the world returning to "normal" and to enter HS next year." - It sounds like you don't need recommendations. Your kid was doing things before COVID that she could have either continued doing or can start doing again. Are you looking for something new?
