I'm aware of a couple trans students at SR (born female, now identifying as male). My understanding is that the other kids have just accepted in and moved on. I don't understand why they are still at SR if they are now male, however. It would seem anti-trans to just kick them out, but it really doesn't make sense to let them stay at SR either. They either want to be treated as males or they don't, and SR is either a school for girls or it's not.
Or kids nowadays are confident (and correct) that gender isn’t 100% binary, and the administration is respecting that. The kids are fine. I think Stone Ridge is smart not to make a fuss.
It has been litigated, so all single sex schools follow the same guideline. You may base admissions on gender, but once in, you may not discriminate if the child changes. Stone Ridge is not the only same sex school (of any religion) that has or will face this issue.
