This is OP. I’m not HR. Just looking for info. Been with ACPS for a number of years. Only reason I’m really looking at moving is because Arlington will hire me at years of experience which would be a jump in steps. I have realized that benefits for ACPS are cheaper though. Also ACPS pay scale is better in later years. I love teaching and think both districts have pros/cons. Just trying to get all the salary and benefit info.

APS gives might give new hires the step that equals their years of experience but not their current staff. I’m considering leaving for a few years then trying to come back so I can get on the correct step for my experience. I love my school though and there’s no way to be sure I could come back to it. Someone recently pointed out to me what I should be making and it’s kind of insulting that I’ve been a loyal employee for years but new hires with the same experience get paid significantly more![/quote]
