I no longer feel guilty about it.  She cannot help herself and while I do feel sorry for her, that's not enough to allow her to continue to spread her cancer into my life.  OP, look at it this way:  Our responsibility is to parent our children, not our parents.  Cut your ties now for the sake of your son.  If he doesn't know the whole story, he may grow up to think he's the cause of the tension or worse yet, they may color his opinion of you.[/quote]
