I think his reaction was over the top because he can't grasp that people are trying to make it about how he couldn't handle rejection instead of listening to his "warning" that she was on a social-climbing narcissistic mission to be beloved by the world and to carelessly discard anyone who stands in the way of that mission.

I think he's gross. And by his own admission part of him "admires" how she was able to pull it off. And that makes him even [i]more[/i] gross.

Not a Piers fan. But I can also divorce my distaste for Piers enough to see that he probably had her figured out from the beginning. And he was fine with it. Enjoyed it actually, until it unexpectedly bit him. He just didn't realize he'd be one of the ones she stepped on along her way up and his ego wasn't having it.[/quote]
