My son ended up sleeping up to 18 hours a day at this age. He is now in school and very smart. He’s a super active kid. Some people just get good sleeper. My other baby had to be sleep trained because he was a horrible sleeper. He’s also a smart and active child. Sleep as a baby doesn’t dictate energy or special needs. [/quote] Actually, high energy a d lack of sleeping as a baby is a sign of giftedness. My DS did not sleep through the night, did not nap, and always seemed on the go. I thought I’d die from lack of sleep. DS later tested as profoundly gifted.[/quote] Same here. I frequently find when talking to other parents of very intelligent kids that their kids also were awake and alert more hours of the day as babies. [/quote]
