If it’s objectively bad, then you should talk to the teacher and discuss concerns. If not properly addressed, then the principal should know. Your kid should also know you will and do stickup for her when there is a real problem. That gives her confidence. If negative is a kid who got a D on the tests being to put more effort in, than the teacher was was doing her job, and your discussion is with the kid about whether there was a lack of effort, or a failure to understand, which needs intervention.
