On the other hand, there are enough kids who are there because they have behavioral issues and this carries over to how all other students are treated. On the high school level there are a fair number of kids on the autism spectrum and while it works for them, the structure of the compressed class format can create a lot of pressure.  A number of kids leave, but this is not talked about.  Other people have had positive experiences, but not us.  Know someone was was there this last year.  Their DC had a lot of anxiety which was worsened.  Pulled out this year.

There is a problem with several  of these micro-schools, as I like to call them.  They can give their students more attention on some level, but they are too small to help deal with daily emotional issues that come up because they lack counselors, special educators and other supports.  If your child can fit their model, it can be great.  Middle school there seems to be better, but many don't need to stay on for the high school.  [/quote]
