Frankly, I think you should have asked what the teachers were doing while you observed it. Easy Peasy. I don't see how that threatens to jeopardize a "relationship." Pleasantries are nice, but really this is the stuff that matters. For the sake of that kid and your kid. If every parent was a little less self-involved and a little more vigilant about ensuring that the teachers are doing their jobs (which matters to me alot more than a director playing nicey nice), I think there would be less pervasive daycare problems, esp in a BH like setting.
