"Holding kids back" is not done much anymore, as the science doesn't support it being particularly useful and quite possibly detrimental. And even when large numbers of kids went without school from Katrina, they returned to school in the appropriate grade as though they had been in school. I am not commenting on whether it SHOULD be used this coming year, but I am saying that it probably will not be.[/quote]
