What is wrong with Johnson HS? I looked at houses in New Market and and Lake Linganore and they were all very outdated. They all needed facelifts and several thousands of dollars to be flipped. My budget is 400-475K. My husband and work from home full time so I want a beautiful spacious home. All the SFH new builds in Urbana/Oakdale are school districts upwards of 750k.
Johnson is not a bad school at all. PP literally gave you their opinion based on a single number.
There's nothing wrong with Thomas Johnson. Compared to other schools in Frederick County, it has more black kids. Unfortunately, even in 2021, this makes the school less appealing to some. It's a fine school.
PP and Black poster here. Nothing wrong with Black students but I didn’t like the low test scores or the neighborhoods zoned for those schools
PP and I'm white. Sorry, maybe I'm sensitive, but when Frederick County schools are discussed, Frederick, Tuscarora and Thomas Johnson are always labeled as the schools/districts to avoid. These are the most ethnically diverse schools in the county, so it strikes me as more than a coincidence that these are always labeled the "bad schools."
