I'm a MCPS elementary school teacher. I figured I'd use a Wednesday afternoon after our weekly staff meeting to set my room up. There's not much to set up. The kids can't access our classroom library, centers or share materials. It's going to be as sterile and boring of an environment as you can imagine. I think four days would be ridiculous.
I teach elementary also and agree. Teachers can plan to go in on Wednesdays, hopefully admins will reduce the number of Wednesday meetings during the transition time. We can set up between live sessions with kids and admin required meetings. And this post is correct, rooms are not going to be what they once were. I do think we’ll need time to figure out what we will need and how to set that up. I can’t see spending 4 solid days on it though. There will need to be some training involved as well.
