Does WPPSI IQ score fluctuate importantly with optimal fit of tester and testee? If it does what types of variables constitute optimal fit? For example, nice voice, beard, gender, race, ethnicity, SES, religion? There is a lot of shopping for the "right" tester on these Boards? How on earth is WPPSI a credible test if "fit" affects score in a significant manner?
You asked this on the other thread. I'll give you the same answer here that I gave you there, with bolding to help out. The "right" tester means that your kid will have a better chance at scoring at his or her potential. The "wrong" tester might result in your kid scoring lower than his or her potential,. The whole problem is due to the fact that kids this age are so easily distracted and may tune the tester out, or get easily bored without an engaging tester. *No* tester can get your kid to score *more* than his or her potential. To say it a different way, no tester can turn a 50th pctile kid into a 90th pctile kid. If you think parents are looking for this miracle-worker tester, you've misunderstood the problem.
