We have an open floor plan and the front hallway leads into the house, around the corner and into the kitchen. All ceramic. We currently have carpet in the rooms, but when the carpet wears out, we'll replace with hardwoods. I think hardwoods in the rooms and ceramic in the hallways, kitchen and baths is the best of both worlds. I'm not a big fan of monotonous hardwoods across the entire floor.[/quote]
