How about vt but not engineering? Any point in applying with a 3.9w and a 1300?
I think it is worth applying. The college & major will drive the decision. When you apply to VT you are applying to the specific college within the university. I am not sure if you can see stats by college at VT, that would be really interesting data. The college of Engineering skews the stats up. Naviance should give you some idea from your school based on your stats. Last year VT pulled a lot of folks from their waitlist since approx 600 international students were not going to attend due to Covid. The year before they didn’t pull anyone of the waitlist.
VT used to have a great data portal where you could see admissions stats by major with GPA and SAT/ACT. They've changed it and now you can still see admission rates by major but it doesn't have the GPA/test scores info so it's a lot less useful. Still, if it's helpful check out: https://udc.vt.edu/irdata/data/students/admission/index
Thanks for sharing. Good data.
