Are you talking about your son here? Sounds like your pitch is kind of personal.  When we talk about the top 18 kids on a top club, it needs to be the top 18 kids that tryout.  Period.  You don't look at who are friends with who.  You cut who needs to be cut.  Sure if it's a just a hair, difference maybe you look at club loyalty, etc.  Otherwise, you take the top 18 kids. Only people whose kid is in the bottom thinks like you.[/quote]

clubs know that not everyone who tries out will move clubs and they know that it will take an a team offer to get a kid to move from try out to paying club member. If an outsider is slightly worse than a B team player, I think they still edge out that B team player for the offer. Anecdotally, I think the order for A team offers, all else being equal is current A team players, outside the club players, and then B team players [/quote]
