in a similar boat.  even with the best au pairs, they eventually flake out.  ours just announced she is leaving.  we are a front line family and this really leaves us in a lurch.  she initiated an extension and is doing this because she wants a vacation earlier than what we could make happen. A live-in nanny could want 2-4 consecutive weeks off, if you hire someone on a green card who wants to gisit their country of origin.  Can you handle that, if you have lead time?

A live-in can also work more than 45 hours, but she’s going to want to be paid more too.

Nope, she doesn’t use DCUM, as far as I know.  I’m a nanny who loves the agency.  I’ve recommended it to both nannies and families.[/quote]
