Unless you live a few blocks from the Capitol, you should be fine. I highly doubt there will be civil unrest in the townhouse communities of Rockville and Gaithersburg. If things get rough, jump in your car and head up 95 or 270 and you can be out of town in a matter of minutes.
Do you think Lincoln park area is far enough not to be worried? I feel like it will be ok but my neighbors are leaving.
Hi neighbor, like a PP we are leaving mostly for mental health reasons, but also feeling a bit on edge with safety. Living on the Hill, I'm concerned with two things - just general spillover violence (there were a lot of proud boys roaming the neighborhood last time) and bombs. I think they are both quite unlikely though. It's mostly that I just can't keep my toddler indoors for five days and don't want my older child to feel overwhelmed by the big police presence. We're turning it into a driving vacation. I think it will be good for all of us.
+1 This is my feeling. I’m not scared about violence but we have a toddler and if they enact another curfew or something I don’t want to be stuck in the house for five days with her. She’s also much happier being able to play outside.
