In college, I knew one person who had started drinking at 12 and was in rehab at 14. But I’ve been a middle school teacher for 20 years and never had a student that we knew was drinking. It’s pretty much all weed. My own kids (late 20s to early teens) say alcohol starts in HS and it is much more common for kids to do weed, ADHD medication, or cough syrup in middle school. [/quote]
