I know people get upset about this because it's not a mandatory grade, but I think that's the wrong way to look at it. The question is: among enrolled students, who is better served by DL, PK students or 3rd? The answer is clearly 3rd. Granted, I think they should be bringing back PK-5 however they can, so it's not like I don't think 3rd should be there. I just think if you have to choose, PK makes more sense than an older grade because DL for PK is the dumbest thing ever, possibly worse than nothing at all. [/quote] Agree in general except let’s be real. PK kids at Janney will be fine without having done PK. They will catch up. (I agree for low income kids, PK is important). 3rd grade is important, it’s a big leap from 2nd. [/quote]
