Our children are 8 and 10, for point of reference. Children spoil the video recordings, make a mess and distract their parents. I gave no on extra PITA or expense, because we hired two babysitters to watch all the children in a room next to the reception room. Only one friend declined due to not wanting to hire a babysitter, and I respect her choice. She's not really the "dance and party" type, so it was no big loss, although I felt she could have left her baby with her DH and come to the 22 minute ceremony and skipped the reception.
