[/quote] Well the top 1000 number is not skewed as its based on national SSN data. I also know from experience that sometimes trends start local and then spread. We named our DD a name outside the top 1000 eight years ago, but it was on the rise in DC and we've met several girls with her name in schools. I just checked the SSN list and it's now in the 200-300 range. I think there might even be some top 100 names that were outside the top 1000 not that long ago (as all these old lady names have come back into fashion).
