So, I think several years ago, there was a DCUM thread about Lorelai's wardrobe (too much GG and DCUM for me, I guess). I think that the discussion said that LG's wardrobe designer complained that she always wanted unrealistically designer costumers. Others on DCUM, however, seemed to think that you could easily thrift a wardrobe like hers given that they are close to wealthy CT wardrobes. I don't know. As a grad student in the Boston-area, I was able to thrift a lot of good condition designer clothing...but it's a decent amount of work and you have to go frequently. Living in Star's Hollow, that doesn't seem practical. Also, they never talk about thrift store shopping and occasionally show them shopping at real stores.
