Called to talk to me almost every day, even though he hates talking on the phone. Able to have difficult conversations and still be true to himself. Always found my cat to say good bye to him before he left. Took my advice. And along the same vein, when I gave some advice or my opinion and he disagreed but later changed his mind, he always said “I was thinking about what you said”. I dated too many guys who 2 weeks after I said something “suddenly realized” it as if they came up with it. We both had the same needs for together and aloneness. We always seemed to need alone time at about the same time and never got offended when one of said, “do you mind if we don’t see each other this weekend?” Still this way—we love spending time together but also love our alone time. Never made me feel bad about my annoying quirks. In fact all the things past boyfriends hated are the things he loved about me.
He also did things I loved and didn’t cop an attitude. He hates musicals but takes me to them and doesn’t enjoy them, but loves seeing how much I enjoy them. Dated a guy who would just sigh heavily and be all grumpy whenever we did stuff he didn’t like.
