BMW Rockville was terrible. We went on a Saturday last year and it was dead. I knew more about the car than the salesman. It took 30 minutes of waiting before someone helped us in the showroom, despite no other customers around. We then had to wait another 35 minutes for them to bring out a car for a test drive - again it dealership was not busy at all. All of this waiting around was with my 7-month pregnant wife. They didn’t even offer her a water or a chair! The final straw was when the salesman couldn’t figure out how to connect my iphone to the vehicle’s Apple CarPlay, which was a “must have” feature for us. Such a waste of time. We went to Fitzgerald Subaru immediately after and drove off the lot that same day with a new Outback that we paid cash. Total schmucks at BMW.
Car salesmen are there to sell cars, not to teach you about the car or how to use it. I know it's odd, but this is just how it is. Serious buyers usually already know about an object that they are going to spend tens of thousands of dollars on and is not interested in being taught how to use the infotainment system. You may feel personally insulted at the way you were treated, but there's likely a good reason why. If they neglected you on purpose, they were probably correct in their reading of you as you walked in through the door. I won't say it doesn't happen, but a person who buys a Subaru on the spot probably had no intention to buy a BMW. That said, I also don't like BMW in Rockville, nor the one in Fairfax VA. I do like the one near Dulles airport, but I only bought one car there and never went there for service. What was funny is that while waiting for my BMW to be prepped for delivery, I walked over next door to the Mini dealership just to walk around and they gave me the keys to a Mini and told me to drive it home to show my wife. Which I did while pretending to my wife that this was the car I bought. My wife thought I was nuts, though she did like the car.
Your snark is showing, I buy Subarus, Audis, Porsche, etc. Get the pole out of your sphincter.
