You have to wonder if at the end he had any regrets about devoting his life to work. It's something I know I think about a lot, with a very stressful job with long hours. Life is so precious. Yes, he impacted the world in a great way, but in the end, it's all just technology. It doesn't matter that much. We'd all be fine if Apple never existed. If I were him I'd have a ton of regrets because you know he did little else but live and breathe Apple. Who knows, maybe that was OK for him. But I have a hard time believing anyone in his position wouldn't have had at least some regrets.
Oh, you know this? I don't. He had a wife and family and I would assume a wealth of friends who made his life rich and complete, even beyond his work. People who are as brilliant as he was are a gift to the world. I think it was a selfless act for him to spend his short time on this earth moving mankind forward. He has been compared to people like Thomas Edison -- people whose minds and actions will contribute to society for years to come. How could anyone possibly "regret" that? What, that he missed a few kids baseball games?
