I have a BA in English from a SLAC, currently working as a cyber security project manager. Early on in my career I did a lot of program support type work which I guess you could call admin. Careers are mostly a progression...each job built off of the previous. If you like the field you are currently working in, that's great. Look for an entry level analyst/program coordinator in that field. If you don't generally find the field interesting, look for an admin role in a different field using your current admin resume.
OP here. I have been working as program assistant/coordinator to admin roles in NGOS. I cant seem to move forward even though I have done project work in digital marketing and website design. I can't seem to know what type of job to apply for next. I have 8-9 years experience in these types of roles.
With 8-9 years, I would recommend investing in a resume writing consultation or take a hard look at what you are sending out. Maybe re-format so you are presenting skills/knowledge rather than jobs/positions held. Do you want to stay in NGO? Or do you want to go into digital marketing/website design? If the latter, apply at companies that do that type of work, rather than NGO work.
