I'd encourage you and your DH to discuss that 2% reservation that's holding you back.  Is it one of your 2%, while the other is at 100%?  What are the reasons for the 2%?  Would banking sperm be an easy solution to get both of you (or the holdout, if there is only one), to 100%?

My story is that I was the 2% while my DH was 100%.  I did exactly what you're suggesting-- asked to wait until DC3 was 2.  I found out I was pregnant with DC4 weeks before the vasectomy.  It was really hard on both of us individually, because by then I was also 100% sure I was done.  So both of us were not happy about it.  But it was also really hard on our marriage, because DH had a hard time not resenting the fact that I had been the hold out.  Really, if one of you is 100% sure, then that's reason enough to do it ASAP.

FWIW, we decided to have DC4.  He's awesome, and working through it has made our marriage stronger.  But it could have gone the other way, and I definitely don't wish an unplanned, unwanted (at least initially!) pregnancy on anyone.
