And one more thing... It takes LONGER to vote at a satellite location or the FCGC during early voting than it would take any voter to vote at their precinct b/c we have to go through the extra step of figuring out which ballot to give you. When you show up on election day at your own precinct, everyone who votes at that precinct gets THE SAME ballot b/c they all are in the same congressional district, same state representative district, and same locality. When we open up free-for-all voting locations, we have to determine which district you belong to so we can give you the right ballot -- the ballot that has the races that are right for you... not the person who lives in Great Falls if you live in Centreville or Alexandria. It's your CHOICE to stand in line. A registered voter can vote in any location. About 500 people at one location by 8:45 and 1 hour later the line barely moved. The 14 satellite locations should have been divided up /assigned precincts. 500 in one spot and at another someone arrived at about 8:45 and there were 3 people. D booth said it would be unfair to assign precincts to satellites. Maybe this means no precinct voting in the future? Ballot initiative on gerrymandering: Input I got from manned party booths. Yes means 4D, 4R on commission then goes to General Assembly-constitutional amendment. No means General Assembly appoints people for a group-no constitutional amendment. D wanted a change but now prefer status quo.
