For those of you who did pump a little for relief - did you feed that milk to your baby later or just stash it? I think I may have oversupply because my baby does not seem hungry for a bottle of milk in addition to my nursing sessions. I don't have a huge freezer so I don't want to be stashing 6 oz every day (I'm only pumping for 4 minutes and getting 6 oz super fast, and my breasts still feel full after because I'm just relieving pressure). Maybe donate?
I froze it and donated it. I did it back in June, but it required doing blood work which you have to be comfortable with. I also needed my OB and pediatrician to sign off on it. I'm so glad I did it because I wanted to give back but it's OK to keep it for later use too. I would not recommend the Haakaa to pump to relief. It's not likely to trigger a let down or offer relief pretty quick. The point is to attach it to your other boob while feeding on one side to catch leaking. I would recommend an actual pump or waking the baby to eat. I have definitely woken baby because it's quicker and easier than doing a pump at 3am.
