Why is this a DCPS problem. He may have done something that got him ousted.
Sure, if you trust Mayor Bowser. But, I don't think anyone does anymore. Her stooges fear her, but that's not trust.
The Post now has an article https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/education/school-without-walls-principal-leaves/2020/10/07/70973d70-08b4-11eb-859b-f9c27abe638d_story.html
Teachers said in interviews that Trogisch had been outspoken that he did not believe city leaders were adequately preparing his elementary school building for students’ return. “He was speaking up about building readiness,” said Richard Jackson, who heads the Council of School Officers, a union for mid-level leadership in the school system. “He was one of the few principals left who challenged and asked questions of management.”
Multiple sources saying he was fired because he was pushing back on school reopening. Specifically, on ELEMENTARY school reopening - he was also the principal of Francis-Stevens Elementary. Let me just say: if the chancellor fires more principals for standing up to their rushed, clearly-impractical "reopening" plan, teachers are going to strike. And parents are going to be right with them. The parents I talked to are PISSED at the chancellor, the mayor, and the DCPS Central Office. With council elections just around the corner, does Bowser want to unify parents against her now?!?!?! She's inches away from 7 seats on the council against her.
