Gender reveal parties = tacky Waiting to reveal the gender until birth = artificially manufactured anticipation to unnecessarily amplify an already pretty cool thing. It's crazy easy and convenient to know the baby's sex before birth. You have to ACTIVELY choose not to find out these days, which seems a very artificial thing to do. So I guess you are right, because in a way, the people who are so adamant that "it be a surprise" may be just as bad as the gender reveal people. When you make the choice NOT to find out the gender, and tell everyone you know that you "want a surprise," you are just creating a fuss over something no one really cares about anyway. People ask the gender of your unborn baby to be polite, not because they actually care. Just find out the gender at 20 weeks, tell people, and move on. All this fuss is exhausting.
uhhhhhhh okay Some of us don't want to know the sex, for a whole host of reasons. I fail to see how simply not knowing (even if you express that as "we want it to be a surprise") creates any more of a "fuss" than telling. "Oh, it's a boy." "Oh, we don't know, we'll find out when they baby's born." I see no difference.
