You all have got to be kidding. It's a well known, non controversial fact that something like 95% of stuff at TJ maxx is made specifically for those stores. They aren't overflow stuff from the manufacturers. There's a reason why TJ maxx always has the same brands month after month and across its stores. And that includes make up and beauty. It's because the products are made for TJ Maxx. As far as clothing goes, the clothes would never have darkened the door of a real mall store. They are entirely different designs. Best case, they are a similar design with much cheaper fabric and other cheapness (no lining, fake pockets etc). It's a lot more difficult to determine what's cheaper in a beauty product than the real thing - but you can be certain that the beauty products they're selling at TJ Maxx are NOT the same as what they are in Sephora or Ulta. Not sure if it's chemically different. Or maybe slightly smaller. Or cheaper packaging. But there's absolutely no way they are the same product.
You are confusing them with outlet malls. TJ Maxx takes overstock inventory usually from previous seasons, label and packaging changes, and poor selling products. This is their model. They get stuff from department stores and name brand stores. But they also started selling a lot of the amazon dot com china clothing as well. Interesting to note - Target sends their end of season product they can't sell in store to Goodwill. They might do this instead of going to 90% off. I have seen plenty of bulk amounts of Target seasonal stuff in the Goodwills in our area.
